Internships and apprenticeships abroad

Learn more about internships and placements abroad at the Academy of Hotel Management and Catering in Poznan.

As the oldest hospitality Academy in Poland, we are well aware of the situation on the job market and the expectations of employers. We know from them that the decisive factors in hiring a candidate are their practical skills and experience gained during work placements. Based on this knowledge we have designed the WSHiG curriculum in such a way that our graduates can boast of numerous internships in Poland and abroad.

We cooperate only with renowned centers

In addition to mandatory domestic internships, we encourage our students to take advantage of the opportunity to go on internships abroad. In this regard, we cooperate only with renowned hotels and restaurants in France, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Greece, trying to constantly acquire new contacts and eliminate those that, for various reasons, did not meet the expectations of students.

Who can apply for internships abroad?

Every student of WSHiG can apply for an internship abroad if he/she fullfiled the following:

  • have successfully completed the first semester of study,
  • have a good command of the language of the country they want to go to,
  • has completed a month-long domestic internship,
  • has submitted the relevant documents, i.e. a CV and completed the foreign internship card (which is the only recognized form of Academy consent to the student's departure), and has applied to the Vice-Rector for exemption from classes for the duration of the internship,
  • successfully completed the interview and received a contract.

Attractive earnings

During the implementation of the internship abroad the student receives a salary of 500 to 2000 euros per month. In many cases, the employer provides accommodation and meals, and often covers travel costs (fully or partially). Additional financial support for students going abroad may be grants from the Erasmus+ Program. More information about it here.

Formal way

  1. The student contacts the internship supervisor of the country to which he/she wants to go.
  2. The student obtains from the foreign placement officer information on the possibility of going abroad, time and place of stay.
  3. The student sends to the internship department employee his/her CV in electronic form. The CV should include basic personal information, a photo and a list of previous work/internship places and skills acquired. The second document is a circulation card (to be collected in the placement department, the completion of which is the basis for obtaining the Academy's formal consent to the student's departure abroad).
